Peanut Butter and Chocolate…in a cup

Ages and ages ago I went to college. At some point while I was there, someone convinced me to try this place called “Jamba Juice”. Here’s the deal. I’m not exactly a fruity gal. And yes…there are fruity people! Think about it! They are usually chipper and they like to move fast. Hahaha! 😅 I do like the occasional fruit drink, but not a lot. But I digress. Anyway. At this juice place, I was overwhelmed by the options.🗒Sidenote to all you pushers (you who push your friends to try new things): Help them when they get there. Don’t just assume they will be able to handle the new thing. Walk them through it. DON’T ABANDON THEM!!! BE A COURTEOUS PUSHER!!! Can you tell I have been abandoned too much??? Anyway.🗒Back to the story. While I was sweating over the menu, I saw my salvation.

As so often happens, I knew the moment I saw it that we were meant to be. It was peanut butter and chocolate…blended together…in a cup.💕 They could have named it after me. That’s how perfect it was. So I got that. And it was… divine. It was heaven in my mouth. I mourned when I was all done. 😟

It’s also a good thing I was poor, because it turns out that sucker would have single-handedly caused me to pack on at least 50 pounds that year!!! Holy smokes!! But… I love them. But… I don’t want to be a fat a**. 😧😒

So here’s my solution. Modifications. I am well aware this smoothie is still about 421 calories. But with the protein, it is a LOT healthier. Here’s what I do:

1 cup dark chocolate almond milkPeanutButterGoodness1

 

1 Frozen BananaPeanutButterGoodness2

 

1 scoop vanilla protein powderPeanutButterGoodness3

 

1 Tbls peanut butter PeanutButterGoodness4

And people…don’t let any of it go to waste. 😉PeanutButterGoodness5

Here’s the breakdown, guys. I cannot for the life of me figure out the screenshot crap. Just…don’t even start. My brain is so fried lately. So anyway. Here’s how it breaks down. With the protein that I use and with the peanut butter I had on hand (that unfortunately had sugar because I was all out of my just regular stuff!!) it is: 421 calories, 12 g fat, 55 g carbohydrates (total), 6 g fiber, 37 g sugar, 30 g protein, 12% Vitamin A, 55% Vitamin C, 55% Calcium, 14% Iron. Got that? All right. Yes. I know. Lots of sugar. If you want, you can always use the unsweetened chocolate almond milk and just use stevia. I know my mother will. Buuuuuuut…I’ll be using the stuff straight from the carton. 😉 OK. Now for the information if you do this without protein powder. Here you go: 311 calories, 11 g fat, 53 g carbohydrates (total), 6 g fiber, 35 g sugar, 6 g protein, 12% Vitamin A, 55% Vitamin C, 47% Calcium, 14% Iron.

So. There you have it. I promise…it’s so good. And yes…I ate it for breakfast. Many much times last week. Many much.
